Tawa is a very strong high density timber that has always been regarded as a speciality timber in New Zealand.
 
This limited set of candle holders have been made from the salvaged native tawa stage floor from the famous Hasting Opera house. The Opera House was built in 1915 by a New Zealand Architec Henry Eli White and is one of the top lyric theatres in Australasia.
